What makes Clarksburg Dental Center different from any other dental practice?
There are quite a few things that make us different: Our friendly, gentle, and highly skilled
dental team, our
state-of-the-art technology, our
warm and soothing atmosphere, and our superior quality dental care. Our entire practice style is centered around you - your comfort, your satisfaction, and your optimal oral health. We invite you to come in and experience the difference in our office.
What should I expect on my first visit?
- As soon as you enter our office, you will be greeted by one of our friendly team members who will be expecting your visit. We will then have you complete some simple paperwork, including your registration and medical history forms. Next, you will meet Dr. Liu or Dr. Lin. In order for us to get to know you better, the doctor will first take the time to listen to your need or concern.
- Then we will perform a comprehensive oral examination. This examination will include routine oral cancer screening, TMJ evaluation, soft tissue evaluation, as well as examination for your teeth and gum. This can be one of the most thorough dental exams you have received. After that, x-ray images will be taken based on the needs. We might also use a small digital intraoral camera to take some images of your teeth for better communication.
- With all the information gathered, the doctor will then take his time to discuss with you about the status your oral health, necessary treatment and treatment options. They will also take their time to answer any of your questions. To enhance your understanding, they will often use the digital x-ray images of your teeth, actual images of your teeth, and a dynamic 3D video presentation for the discussion. Depending on your need, we might also perform a routine cleaning for you.
- If your first visit is an emergency visit, instead of a comprehensive oral exam, the doctor will perform a problem-focused exam. He will then recommend or provide the necessary emergency treatment based on your need.
How do I get to your office?
What are your office hours?
Do you accept my insurance plan?
We accept most traditional dental insurance and we are preferred providers for many of the PPO dental plan including the following: Delta, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United Concordia, Humana, Metlife, United Health Care, Dental Benefit Provider, DenteMax, and DentaQuest. Please give us a call at (301)515-5525 and one of our friendly team members will be happy to find out more about your insurance plan.
How will your team assist me in terms of my dental insurance?
We understand that dental insurance can be very confusing but we can help. As a courtesy for our patients, our team will take care of all the required insurance paperwork for the dental services you receive at our office. In most situations, after you provide us with the necessary information, one of our team members will call your insurance company on your behalf to get the breakdowns and details of your dental insurance benefits/coverage. We will then be able to provide you with an estimate of your co-payment and coverage based on the information provided by your insurance.
NOTE: The estimate is based upon the information provided by your insurance carrier. If there are any insurance questions, please ask your insurance carrier for clarifications. The estimate will outline what your insurance will cover and any amount difference will be due upon receipt of our statement.
If you have any questions regarding your insurance, please feel free to give us a call at (301)515-5525 and one of our friendly team members will be glad to assist you.
I don't have dental insurance. How can your office help me?
While our office is equipped with the latest technology and utilize the best dental material available, our standard office fees are set up based on the averages of what dentists charge in our area and in this country. In addition, flexible payment plans are available to our patients, which include interest-free financing options. Furthermore, senior and student discounts are available.
Do you see kids? At what age should my kids start seeing a dentist?
Yes, we are a family practice and we love kids. In fact, many of our patients who are parents like to set up their appointments together with their children on the same day, so they can all come at the same time. Kids can even enjoy watching a cartoon DVD, while they are receiving their dental treatment.
Based on the recommendation of the American Dental Association, we suggest that a child's first "get acquainted" visit be around 2 to 3 years of age.
Do you take emergency visit?
Yes. We understand that dental emergency/accident does occur and we can help you. If you need an emergency dental visit (for example: toothache, broken or chipped tooth, lost filling), please give us a call and we will arrange an appointment for you as soon as possible, most of the time on the same day. If you have an after hours emergency, please call our office and follow the instructions on the voice message and one of our doctors will respond to your emergency. Our office phone number is (301)515-5525.
What is preventative conservative dentistry?
At Clarksburg Dental Center, we focus on keeping your teeth and the supporting gums and bone in optimal health. We will be able to help you prevent problems before they become painful and expensive to repair. This requires that we work as a team. Your responsibility to yourself is to assist us and closely follow our recommendations. Our goal is to help you obtain a healthier mouth and a beautiful smile now and in the future. Each patient receives a customized prevention plan based on a thorough evaluation of his or her mouth at the time of the initial oral examination. This is a dynamic plan that is revised during subsequent periodic examinations.
